Since Muck's release, there are three Game Modes for the host to choose from when starting a run. Each mode possesses various differences from each other to allow for three similar - but unique - experiences of the game.

Game Modes[]

Survival Mode[]

Survival Mode is the primary game mode in Muck. Players must survive on a hostile island, drink milk, fend off Enemies at night and collect Powerups until they're strong enough to challenge Bob.

Versus Mode[]

Versus Mode is the second game mode available in Muck. It is essentially the same as Survival Mode, however players are challenged not only by the environment, but their friends as well.

Changes from Survival[]

Creative Mode[]

Creative Mode is the third game mode available in Muck. Despite the name, it is functionally identical to Survival Mode, only days do not advance and thus, enemies can only be spawned through Shrines and natural world generation.

The main purpose behind the game mode is to allow players to freely explore the Muck island and build without the fear of being harmed.

Changes from Survival[]

  • Enemies can only spawn from Shrines or from daylight world generation.
  • Days do not advance, which keeps the player permanently at Day 0. This prevents late-game enemies such as the elemental Daves and Bosses from spawning naturally.
  • Big Chunk, Gronk and the White Guardian will not spawn naturally.
    • The colored Guardian Totems will still generate and can be fought for their Gems.
